THE JURY SAID:

No Dr. Shaw was negligent and he had committed a battery.  The jury awarded Ms. Perry $59,000 for medical expenses and $1,030,000 for her noneconomic damages. The California Appellate Court agreed and published their opinion on April 23, 2001 as Peery v.
